Review: Brown Bird {kyle}

I don’t usually go out by myself. I’m not the kind of person that can just go sit at the bar and start up conversations with strangers.

I’m a little awkward.

{If only I’d seen this first}

But this past Saturday Sarajane was out of town and I wanted to go see some music. I’ve been trying to make a point to see more live shows. It’s something I’ve always enjoyed, but haven’t made a priority. In her attempts to make me into less of a crotchety old man, Sarajane has been trying to push me to get out and do more of the things that I like to do. It might seem strange to have to be pushed to do things that you like, but that’s my life. Continue reading

Real Look: Bright New Day; Better Late Than Never {Eric}

With it being Spring and all I immediately broke out my shorts. And which shorts are better to welcome Spring than the brightest ones in my closet?! The world is bright in the springtime so our clothes should be too!

Real Look: Gym Clothes Make-Over! {Sarajane.}

I’ve been wearing a version of the same gym clothes since high school. Yup. Ribbed tank tops with the SAME sofe shorts. I sometimes layered leggings under them and added a jacket here and there. But, those were always the basics. Not only were they boring. But, they were also kind of frumpy.

As I’ve started going to the gym everyday I haven’t had enough clothes to supply myself. So, I started out just to buy something for everyday. Then, I found these awesome gym clothes from Old Navy so I bought enough for an entire week of workouts. Don’t judge me.

Every once in a while it’s important to give yourself a once over and do a self-inflicted make-over.

If you’re not ready to make-over yourself, then, just let one of us know and we’ll be happy to do it for you ;)

My new gym clothes:

I love the pants because they’re not cut too low for bending over. The shirt tightens at the waist so it doesn’t come up during yoga class. But, it’s not too tight so that I’m self-concious. There’s a little mini-pocket in the back of the pants too!

All of these were purchased at Old Navy. The white jacket was a GAP find.

Seriously, I’m in love. I’ve never had gym clothes that I felt so comfortable working out in and didn’t mind going out in public in.

What do you like to wear to the gym? What part of your wardrobe needs a re-do?

xoxo,

Sarajane.

Gypsies, Waterfalls, and Learning to Have Purpose {kyle}

The following was originally posted on my previous travel blog VoteForKyle.com, but it’s something I’ve been thinking about lately and I felt it was worth sharing. I’ve made a few edits and updates, but the meaning remains the same.

Sarajane’s Year in Review!

It seems like every year I look back and think, THAT was the best year ever! I am sorry, but, I’m going to have to go there again. 2012 was amazing! I’ve loved every minute of living it and I can’t wait to top it with 2013! I think every year is as good as we choose to make it. Also, as good as we choose to look at it. Every day I want to wake up and know that I’m where I want to be, doing what I want to do, with the people I want to do it with. I’m so blessed that everyday I’m sure of that. I don’t know what 2013 has for me yet, but, I’m certain it’s good!

But, before I get ahead of myself, let’s chat about some of my favorite things in 2012! Starting with this picture…

Wishing You a Peaceful Christmas {Tyler}

I’m sitting here in the rainy and chilly mountains just south of Asheville,  in my hometown of Brevard, enjoying Christmas Eve with my family, and thinking about one of my favorite holiday themes: peace. I know, it may sound kind of silly and hippie-esque, but for me, the idea of peace is one of my favorite parts of the holiday season.

Growing up in the Christian faith, I always loved listening to the Christmas story and learning about the peace, love, and joy brought by the birth of Christ. Regardless of where you are when it comes to what you may, or may not, believe I think we can all agree that we’ve got to strive for peace within our own lives, the lives of our family, and our communities.

With that in mind, I want to wish you a very peaceful holiday season and a New Year full of love and light.

Instagram Roundup

This was a big week for all of us! We had our Halloween party, we started writing for NaNoWriMo, and Kyle and Sarajane left for Panama! Luckily we took pictures of everything so that you all could enjoy them, and of course, as usual, we’ve included a picture of some coffee.

It’s been an eventful, but fun week and we hope you’ve had an equally exciting one.

So here are our lives in pictures…ENJOY!

The 20 Somethings Halloween Bash! {Sarajane.}

On Wednesday night for Halloween we had a little bash for any of our friends that could make it over. We wanted to stay in because we were all REALLY excited at the prospect of trick or treaters. But, we wanted to also party with our favorites. So, we got the bar hopping out of the way on Saturday and hunkered in with the warmth and some punch the night of Halloween. For those of you that couldn’t make it we thought we’d bring a little of the party to you!

This is mr. skeleton getting ready for the evening’s festivities. He’s saying, “hello neighbors!”

Instagram Round Up & Contest Winner

It’s time for this week’s Instagram round up! This was a full week of Halloween celebrations, NaNoWriMo planning, and getting ready for this week’s potential snow storm (fingers crossed!).

But, before we get started with the Instagram round up we’ve got to announce the winner of this month’s contest!

Congratulations…

Courtney Butler!

We loved Courtney’s description of her favorite room in her home. You can read it here!

Now, back to Instagram…

House Tour: The Office! {Sarajane}

This is the room where I spend most of my time. I guess it’s only natural I would blog about it. The office is set up for the comfort of working, the flexibility to photograph in here, and the professionalism for client meetings. If you ever saw my last work spaces you would know that this is a huge step up. From the coffee shop in college to a tiny desk in a guest room, to working out of our car, to a ‘cloffice’ {office/closet}. I’m thrilled to have so much space to host all of the many things I need to run a business. Not to mention I get to share a desk with one of my favorite people!

This dresser came with the house. It was painted magenta with gold handles before. Kyle and I painted it yellow, the handles white and took out the top drawers.
