A little while back I learned of this site called Tie Society, where you can trade ties in and out. Like Netflix…but for ties. Of course I wanted to try it out! They had so many options I was overwhelmed, but when I saw the skull & crossbones bow tie I knew that I would look cool in it. I would look sophisticated…but like I would cut you.

Real Look: Librarian Chic! {Sarajane.}
I’m very fond of the look I like to call “Librarian Chic.” Taking something that could be a little frumpy and doing what I can to modernize it. In this case I was happy to do that with both the skirt and the glasses. In fact, I’m 90% sure my papaw has these glasses. Only his lenses are prescription. If you have a problem with my fake glasses, Eric has already handled that situation with this post.
Another thing I’m excited about with this look is that I got the skirt at a thrift store. Yup. I am a self-confessed thrift store avoider. It’s just not my thing. I know all of the many reasons why we should shop at them. But, I rarely find things that I like and end up feeling like I wasted time. But, in this case, I do feel very grateful! The other thing I love about this skirt is that it has pockets! Girls, can we all at the same time just say a big thank you for the pocketed skirt/dress trend. Our clothes never have enough pockets.
I wore this outfit to the Bob Dylan concert here in town and I don’t regret it.
The skirt was purchased at a thrift store. The shirt at Old Navy. The belt at Target. The shoes at Old Navy. The glasses at a vintage shop in Savannah, GA. The necklace was my first anniversary gift from Kyle!
XOXO,
Sarajane.

My Plea For A Slimming Pant {Eric}
I’ve heard it so many times, “I don’t wear skinny jeans ‘cause I just can’t fit into them.” Let me let you in on a secret…skinny jeans come in all sizes. I know you love to have some wiggle room, I know you love to have a flare at the bottom of those jeans, but let me break it to you in the nicest way that I know how…bitch, a flare is not in style!

Real Look: Orange You Glad Winter’s Over? {Eric}
Winter is long gone and summer is right around the corner! Currently I’m basking in the spring weather. Although sometimes chilly and rainy, I still love that the threat of snow is no more. Because a chill in the air could strike at any moment, I’m not comfortable leaving the house in just short sleeves. What if it rains? What if it gets cloudy and the sun never comes out again? What if that movie theater is as cold as the arctic? I’ll bet you’d want some long sleeves then! With that in mind I still have my light sweaters and cardigans lying around. It WAS just April 25th ya know, the perfect date!
Real Look: Bright New Day; Better Late Than Never {Eric}
With it being Spring and all I immediately broke out my shorts. And which shorts are better to welcome Spring than the brightest ones in my closet?! The world is bright in the springtime so our clothes should be too!
Don’t Think Of Them As Trends, Think Of Them As Staples {Eric}
Maybe some of you aren’t into wearing trends because, as the name suggests, they’re in and then they’re out. If it’s in trend now, then it will be out of trend later. Well let’s not think of these as “trends,” let’s think of these as Spring and Summer staples.
The best option for many trends is to keep it subtle; it may be a nail color, a bracelet, a shoe. This way if this “trend” ever goes out-of-trend then it’s not obnoxiously hanging out in your closet; they remain your cute leopard shoes or your neon-colored nail polish. These so called trends that I’ve listed are always kind of trendy for Spring and Summer. Neon is always fun to wear in the summer. Florals always show up for spring. This is nothing groundbreaking.
Trends are fun to play with but I don’t stress about them cause if I want to wear a neon windbreaker, well I’m going to wear a neon windbreaker.

Real Look: Old Fashioned Rule Breaker {Eric}
Everyone knows that antiquated “no white after labor day” rule. I don’t pay any attention to rules. Especially in regards to what I wear. How are you supposed to keep track of when to wear white and when you can’t? So I just wear it whenever I feel like it. And you should too!
Real Look: How to Dress for a Bad Day! {Sarajane.}
The fact is that most days I work alone in my office and see very few people during work hours and I know even fewer of them. So, I could technically get away with wearing yoga pants and sweatshirts everyday to work if I wanted to. Sometimes I do.
Today I chose to wear the sparkly shirt I wore on my birthday and a blazer.
It’s definitely a little more than I need to wear if I’m just sitting at a computer all day. When I was asked about being so dressed up this morning my response was this…
Well, I felt like shit when I woke up.
Let me explain…
New To Asheville: Old North Clothing {Eric}

“I feel like something is missing. Do you feel that? Like something is missing?” As I spoke with Wren about her and her husband’s new store I could tell that they had a passion for menswear, and good quality clothes. “I have a lot of hand me down pieces from my Grandma and the kids of our generation aren’t going to have that!” It’s obvious that Jack and Wren are in the business of selling quality men’s clothes that will last.

Real Look: Chambray Thursday! {Sarajane.}
I feel like it’s been far too long since I did a Real Look. Truth of the matter is I’m rarely around someone who can take my picture. So, today’s real look is photographed by myself with my fancy pants cell phone! hehe. Maybe this is good so that you know we’re not constantly being followed around by photographers. Today’s look is my go-to outfit. If I’m worried that I’ll be uncomfortable that day or just don’t want to put much thought into what I’m wearing, I go to this! It’s really comfortable and easy to wear while at the same time being on trend.
I’m currently playing an accessory game with my friend Emily right now that I will tell you about very soon!!! Because of it, I built today’s outfit around my scarf in order to wear it.
