Real Looks: Meet My Man Bag {Eric}

For this week’s Real Look I did a scary thing and I chose to rock the man bag (or murse, if you prefer). I was oddly confident in my man bag rocking abilities. I went right downtown, in the midst of the tourists and bar hoppers and walked around with my bag. This is Asheville, carrying a purse is the least strange thing a man can do. I also realized what an opportunity that men are missing out on! A man bag means that you can carry SO many things you normally wouldn’t be able to AND you don’t have to bulk up your pockets! Imagine a world where you don’t have to cram your car keys into the pocket of your jeans. Can you imagine it? This world can be a reality.

Something I realized when I got older was that my Dad carries a murse. He calls it a “satchel” and it’s just a small rectangular leather bag, but make no mistake, it is a murse. All those years I had no idea! This realization helped me say “IDGAF” (That’s “I don’t give a…flip” in internet speak. Feel free to use it.)

So I chose to be colorful but subtly. The belt is from Target as part of there The Webster Miami collection. I loved the colors of the belt and the way it gives just a slight pop of color.

This shirt was a bargain at Urban Outfitters. SALE RACK, BABY! I almost did not get it, looked too boxy. Little did I know that it would become my favorite shirt! Flattering as well as a good color!

The shoes are my old Sperry Top Siders. I’ve had these since high school or Freshmen year of college. My old trustees. I like them cause they have the gold accents with the dark brown leather. They’re just the perfect loafer to slip on.

The pants are actually from Downtown Asheville. I got them at a cool vintage store called Ragtime. It’s on Walnut street. Stop in there sometime! It has some cool stuff. I was surprised to find anything in my size, but they had a good selection.

The bag, THE bag, is from Gap. They have this bag in a ton of colors but Tyler and I chose this one. Went perfect with this outfit, don’t you think?

So that’s this weeks Real Look! What do you think? You like? What are you thoughts on man bags? Let me know in the comments below!
