Pick Up The Call, It’s Fall {Eric}

So it’s the end of summer and fall is RIGHT around the corner. Department stores are already getting their fall collections in. So, what does this mean for you? NEW CLOTHES! Summer is all about colors but fall is more about neutrals and muted colors. Does this mean no colors in the fall? I’ll leave that up to you! Feel it out. Remember, we don’t always have to be “on trend” all the time. I can assure you I’ll still be wearing my salmon colored shorts every once in awhile.

So here are your best bets when it comes to colors in the fall. Mustard is always a good choice. I for one love mustard yellow and would wear it all the time. It is such a fall color you really don’t want to miss your chance to wear it. Brown. All variations of brown. What you want is warm colors, and brown is a nice warm compliment to most muted colors. Autumn leaf red is another color that, obviously from the name, is a fall go to. Any red would really be a stand out color when paired with these fall colors so keep that in mind, but autumn leaf is a muted red color and looks so pretty. Emerald Green is another color that pairs nicely with a fall look. Try it in a scarf or cardigan.

One good thing about the change of season, you have to go shopping to at least get a few fall essentials. HAVE TO. It’s a must. And this weekend in North Carolina is tax free weekend, so what better time to rack up?! This is your chance! There are a few “essentials” that you will need for fall. I’ve compiled a list because I’m super sweet and I like to make it super easy for you. Here they are…

Hoodies – Hoodies are the most perfect item for fall. They’re light but still keep you covered up so you don’t get chilly. It’s fall, the chill is in the air. The best type of hoodie to pair with an outfit is a zip-up hoodie. The pull overs can be a bit bulky, but a zip-up hoodie is a nice jacket to just layer your outfit with.

Cardigans – Pretty much the same as the hoodie but a totally different effect. You’ll look way more distinguished with a cardigan. And if you can find one with elbow patches, get it!

Scarves – Scarves are NOT just to keep warm. Some people, typically men, don’t “understand” scarves but scarves are a great accessory for men and women. And men don’t have many accessories as is, so why not jump on the bandwagon and rock a scarf?

Colored denim – YES YES YES! Colored jeans are always the answer. Try and find any of the colors mentioned above. Brown and khaki colors will be most useful for fall.

Layers – Layering is key in the fall. Jackets on top of vests on top of a button up with jeans(color of your choice) and a scarf. Don’t pretend you don’t love the sound of that.

Vests – Again, layering. When is a better time to wear a vest? Layer it with a button up, jeans, and a scarf. Chic fall outfit and you didn’t even have to do much.

Perfect time for oversized – The oversized trend is more for the ladies, and fall is a great chance for you to try it out. An oversized sweater with some skinny jeans. An oversized jacket with some jeans and flats. Oh yeah, you got this.

So I’ve made a few sample outfits for you to look at, critique, love or hate. Maybe even give you an idea of just what I’m talking about.

So there you have it! What do you think of it all? The outfits? The colors? The essentials? Let me know in the comments below!
